These tables cover results from the top level of English football, known variously as the Premiership or Premier League (since 1992) and Division 1 (1888-1992). All Reading's games at this level have been in the Premier League. Their record at this level is as follows:

Manchester United have 20 Level I championships, just ahead of Liverpool who have 18. This is followed by Arsenal with 13, and Everton with 9. Aston Villa have seven, Chelsea and Sunderland have six, while Manchester City, Sheffield Wednesday and Newcastle have four. Four clubs have three titles, five have two, and five have one.
