Southern League First Division 1971-79
The First Division was split into two regional sections (North and South) in 1971. This lasted until 1979 when the Premier Division and First Division were amalgamated into two regional sections (Midlands and South).

Southern League First Division 2017-23
The First Division was re-organised into Eastern and Western sections in 2017 prior to both the Premier Division and First Divisions being re-organised into Central and Southern sections in 2018. There was a play-off between the two section winners to decide the overall title.
