Southern Charity Cup

History

The Southern Charity Cup was a cup competition in the early part of the twentieth century. Reading were twice finalists. In 1904-05 they beat Southampton and Queen's Park Rangers before drawing 0-0 with Tottenham in the final at Fulham. Since Tottenham had a tour of Austria-Hungary planned there was no time for a replay and the trophy was shared. The following season they beat Millwall and Southampton before losing 1-0 to Woolwich Arsenal in the final at Fulham.
